The Lake Gaston App

The beauty of living or vacationing at the lake is your daily proximity to paradise. Lake Gaston is the perfect balance of relaxation and activity, with access to abundant amenities and nearby towns. To keep your lake routine as stress-free as possible, there’s now a smartphone app that keeps you in the loop on everything from dinner recommendations and community events to local electricians and banks.

LKG On Tap is a free download compatible with both iPhones and Androids; look for it in the Apple App Store and on Google Play, or on the app’s website. Here’s what you can expect

The Highlights

That same “LKG” logo emblazoned on bumper stickers and apparel lake-wide (and beyond) identifies the On Tap on your home screen. Clicking through takes you to a directory-style listing of information, conveniently organized by category. Certain groups are self-explanatory, which doesn’t mean they aren’t handy: dining, boating and fishing resources, and a roundup of local media outlets.

Other categories are more thorough than you might expect. Shopping, for instance, is both practical and fun: Alongside clothing and souvenir shops are antique stores, art galleries, tackle stops, flea markets, office supply centers, gifts, and even area gas stations. Click the Health tab, which conjures notions of gyms and personal trainers, and find those together with chiropractors, dentists, and personal home care providers. Need some end-of-season dock repairs or a second home refresh with carpet cleaning? Check the Home &

Dock tab. Want to unwind by listening to live music? Find the events calendar under the See & Do label.

Thorough-fare

The best part of LKG On Tap is its simplicity. This isn’t the app you’ll use as a distraction or entertainment. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. In its straightforward format, this is your pulse on lake life. It’s not much and therefore it’s everything — the essence of lake living.
